First Website for the Wayzata American Legion
Moving beyond Facebook to reach a broader audience.
Coming out of the Covid pandemic, the leadership of the legion saw the need to increase the attendance at the club by launching a website. I volunteered to plan the site structure, design the layout, and add the essential pages.
Goals
Having a site to share hours, menus, special events, and fundraising efforts..
Integrate website with Google Search for information sharing.
Increase visitors to bar & grill, fundraising events.
Promote services for Veterans.
Create community as a Place to Belong.
Branding & Identity
Introduction of typefaces, colors, patriotism, slogan.
Consolidated Reference for Weekly Schedule.
Club members and guests need a quick reference point for the hours and events occuring each week..
Promote Fundraising & Philanthropy
A key mission of the legion is to raise money for community & veteran needs.

Summary
The website has become a gathering point, much like the club itself. With the onboarding of a new restaurant manager, it became an essential spot for customers to browse the menus. For efficiency, many of the social media posts can be repurposed on the website as well.
